Burundi NDF has been asked to present to top decision makers in the Burundi government, a Common Vision document lobbying for a clear environmental policy and a specific environmental Commission for Burundi.

This took place on October 8th 2010 during a workshop organised by the Burundi NDF where the country´s Environmental Civil Society organisations presented the Common Vision document to Burundi government officials.

Burundi NDF national programme Assistant Mr. Masabo Philippe, writes that the government officials were impressed by the initiative and the content of the document.
It is expected that the top decision makers will make an input to the document and facilitate it´s implementation.

Contents of the document were later divulged to the rest of the country through a two-hours media synergy magazine (radio talk show) aired concurrently over nine radio station on the afternoon of October 8th 2010.

During the talk show, the main issues raised were the need to create an autonomous environmental institution to facilitate environmental management in the country.
