The Nile Basin Discourse (NBD) in partnership with the DRC National Discourse Forum will on the 9th of August 2018 hold a Capacity Building Training workshop for selected women and youth from across the country. The intention of the workshop is to make selected women and youth climate change resilience champions by building their capacity and skills to help them create green jobs. NBD believes that these workshops will enhance understanding of the creation of climate-smart businesses and industry (green jobs).

This training workshop is a follow-up of prior training on Climate Risk Management held in 2015 and 2017 in the 10 Nile riparian states including Burundi, D. R. Congo, Egypt, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, South Sudan, Sudan, Tanzania and Uganda .

Overall, NBD expects to train 600 participants from the ten National Discourse Forums including 300 women and 200 youth; the rest of the participants will be drawn from NDF Offices, the NBD Secretariat, Government/Local Authority, Religious Leaders, other organizations involved with development for women and youth, and the private sector.
