Participants of the 1st Nile Basin Discourse Summit on Collaboration in River Basins Management Policies and Practices - Entebbe Nov. 2017
Representatives of Civil Society Organizations in the Nile Basin, experts in water resources, researchers, development partners and media gathered in Entebbe, Uganda for 1st Nile Basin Discourse Summit held from 29th to 30th November 2017. Hundreds of participants from across the basin and beyond discussed the challenges, opportunities, experiences and best practices of cooperation and development investment in River Basins, especially the Nile.
Driven by the summit theme: "Integration and Inclusion: New Ideas for collaboration in River Basins", participants discussed on different issues that will promote the regional integration through the newly generated ideas and called for enhancement of cooperation on the Nile.
Nineteen (19) working papers were presented and touched on three sub-themes: Nurturing Cooperation for Sustainable Development; Knowledge Exchange and Water Governance; and Capacity Building and Innovation.

Nile Basin Discourse Summit (NBDS) was initiated by the Nile Basin Discourse Network, as a biennial platform to Discourse on emerging issues, best practices, experiences that could tone down challenges of a River Basin.
